Frequently Asked Questions

Dikson Color is an Italian professional permanent oxidation colouring cream, sold in 120ml tubes. Salon Brandz carries the full range in Canada: Natural (.0), Natural Extra (.00) for resistant grey, Ash (.1) and Intense Ash (.11), Golden (.3), Matte (.8), the Superlightening 12 series for high-lift blondes, plus Correctors (green, red) and Toners (pearl, ash, silver). All tubes are authentic, sourced from the authorized Canadian distributor.
The number before the point is the depth level: 1 is black, 5 light brown, 7 blonde, 10 the lightest platinum blonde, and 12 the superlightening series. The number after the point is the tone: .0 natural, .00 natural extra, .1 ash, .11 intense ash, .3 golden, .8 matte, .21 iris. So 6.1 is Dark Blonde Ash, 7.3 is Blonde Golden and 10.1 is Blonde Platinum Light Ash.
The .0 Natural shades are the standard neutral tones for normal grey coverage and everyday colouring. The .00 Natural Extra shades carry a heavier pigment load and are formulated for stubborn, resistant or high-percentage grey, giving fuller coverage without pulling warm. If a client's grey keeps showing through with a .0 shade, move to the same level in .00.
Dikson Color is mixed with a professional cream developer (oxidizing emulsion): 10 vol for tone-on-tone deposit, 20 vol for standard grey coverage and one to two levels of lift, 30 vol for two to three levels, and 40 vol for the Superlightening 12 series. Dikson specifies one part colour to one and a half parts developer; follow the ratio and processing time printed on the tube.
Correctors are pure-pigment additives mixed into a formula to adjust tone: Green cancels unwanted red, Red adds warmth or neutralises green. Toners (Pearl, Ash, Silver) are added to lighter formulas or used on pre-lightened hair to cool the result and neutralise yellow. They are not used on their own for full coverage.
The 12 series (for example 12.11 Super Platinum Blonde Extra Intense Ash and 12.21 Super Platinum Irise Blonde Extra) are high-lift permanent blondes that lighten and tone in one step. They are used with 40 vol developer on natural, uncoloured bases from level 6 upward, and are not designed to lift previously coloured hair; for that, use a lightener first.
Yes. Dikson is known for reliable grey coverage at a professional price, which is why it is one of the most-ordered colour lines at Salon Brandz. Use the Natural or Natural Extra shades with 20 vol developer, apply to dry unwashed hair and process for the full time on the tube. For very resistant grey, pre-soften or add a Natural Extra shade to the formula.
